Delightful baked donuts infused with the comforting flavors of apple and cinnamon, perfect for fall.

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup diced apples (peeled and cored)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, mix the applesauce, milk, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples.
  6. Fill each donut cavity about 2/3 full with the batter.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Consider adding a light dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of caramel for serving.
