  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups chopped apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Optional: Whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in the milk until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out the dough and cut it into rounds.
  5. Place the biscuit rounds on a baking sheet.
  6. Combine the chopped apples with cinnamon, brown sugar, and lemon juice in another bowl.
  7. Assemble the sandwiches by placing a spoonful of the apple mixture on half of the biscuit rounds, then topping with another round.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm, with a dollop of whipped cream if desired.

Notes
