A comforting one-pan dish that combines the best flavors of a cheeseburger with rice, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the chopped bacon until crispy in a large skillet over medium heat. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until soft.
  3. Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the rice and beef broth, bringing everything to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes until rice is tender.
  6. Stir in the cooked bacon and cheddar cheese until melted.
  7. Serve with optional toppings like diced tomatoes, pickles, or mustard.

Notes

Keep an eye on the rice while simmering. Customize toppings to your taste and feel free to swap the ground beef for turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
