A delicious banana cake filling that adds flavor and moisture to your cakes and cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, flour, and salt.
  2. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the mashed bananas, vanilla extract, and butter until smooth.
  5. Allow to cool before using as a filling for cakes and cupcakes.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
