A classic, elegant dessert that is creamy, light, and easily flavored; perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 egg yolks

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine milk, sugar, and vanilla extract in a saucepan over medium heat until warm (do not boil).
  3. Whisk egg yolks in another bowl, then gradually add the warm milk mixture, whisking constantly.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan over low heat and cook until it thickens, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove from heat, add the gelatin mixture, and stir until dissolved.
  6. Let it cool to room temperature.
  7. Whip the heavy cream to soft peaks in a separate bowl.
  8. Fold the whipped cream gently into the cooled custard.
  9. Pour into molds or bowls and refrigerate until set, about 240 minutes.

Notes

Garnish with fresh berries, powdered sugar, or chocolate sauce when serving. Ensure gelatin is fully dissolved for best results.
