A heartwarming BBQ Pulled Pork recipe that brings back memories of summer picnics with tender meat and tangy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 34 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Buns for serving
  • Coleslaw for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Mix together the smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Place the chopped onion and minced garlic in the bottom of a roasting pan or slow cooker.
  4. Add the pork shoulder on top of the onions and garlic.
  5. Pour the BBQ sauce over the pork.
  6. Cover the pan and roast in the oven for 6-8 hours.
  7. Remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
  8. Shred the pork with two forks and mix it with the BBQ sauce.
  9. Serve the pulled pork on buns and top with coleslaw if desired.

Notes

This recipe can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving. Experiment with your favorite BBQ sauces for different flavors.
