Instructions

  1. Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the Onions: Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent.
  3. Brown the Mushrooms: Toss in the sliced mushrooms and cook until beautifully browned.
  4. Add the Beef: Push the veggies to the side and introduce the beef strips to the skillet, cooking them until nicely browned.
  5. Thicken with Flour: Sprinkle the flour over the beef and vegetables, stirring well to coat.
  6. Create the Sauce: Slowly add the beef broth, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens.
  7. Enrich the Sauce: Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and sour cream, mixing until fully combined.
  8. Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over cooked egg noodles or rice.
