A rich and decadent black cheesecake with a smooth texture and bold cocoa flavors, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder or activated charcoal
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 4 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Combine graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder (or activated charcoal), sugar, and melted butter in a bowl. Press into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  3. Beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add sugar and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in sour cream until smooth.
  5. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the crust.
  6. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
  7. Cool in the oven with the door ajar for about an hour.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.

Notes

Top with whipped cream or edible gold flakes. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
