Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Melt milk and butter: In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk and butter until warm but not boiling.
  3. Add egg and mix: Crack the egg into the bowl and mix everything together until a dough begins to form.
  4. Knead the dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes.
  5. Let the dough rise: Place the kneaded dough in a warm spot and let it rise for about an hour.
  6. Roll out the dough: Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down and roll it out into a rectangular shape.
  7. Spread cream cheese and blueberries: Spread the rich cream cheese evenly over the dough and sprinkle the blueberries on top.
  8. Roll the dough into a log: Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log.
  9. Slice into rolls: Using a sharp knife, slice the rolled dough into equal pieces, about 1-2 inches thick.
  10. Let the rolls rise again: Cover the rolls and let them rise in the baking dish for another 30 minutes.
  11. Bake to perfection: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), then bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes.
  12. Drizzle with powdered sugar icing: Whisk together powdered sugar and a touch of milk to drizzle over the warm rolls.
