A rich and nutty frosting that elevates any dessert, perfect for cakes, cupcakes, or cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown and nutty.
  2. Remove from heat and let the brown butter cool slightly.
  3. Combine powdered sugar, heavy cream (or milk), vanilla extract, and pinch of salt in a mixing bowl.
  4. Add the cooled brown butter to the mixture and beat until smooth and creamy.
  5. If the frosting is too thick, add more cream or milk, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency.
  6. Use immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or cookies.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Bring to room temperature before using.
