A vibrant and simple Caprese salad featuring ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Ingredients

  • 4 Ripe tomatoes
  • 8 oz Fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella cheese into thick slices.
  2. Alternate layers of tomato slices, mozzarella slices, and basil leaves on a serving platter.
  3. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the assembled salad.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve immediately for the best flavor.

Notes

Choose the best quality tomatoes, preferably heirloom varieties, and always use fresh mozzarella for the best results. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
