A delightful fall dessert that combines the sweetness of caramel and tartness of apples in a moist cake, perfect for gatherings.

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch cake pan.
  2. Mix together the yellow cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil until well combined. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan.
  3. Bake according to package directions, typically around 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  4. Poke holes into the cake using the handle of a wooden spoon.
  5. Drizzle the caramel sauce generously over the cake.
  6. Spread the apple pie filling evenly over the top of the cake.
  7. Whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and cinnamon until soft peaks form.
  8. Frost the cake with the whipped topping.
  9. Drizzle additional caramel sauce on top if desired.
  10. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
