A delightful dish featuring tender chicken rolled around slices of ham and gooey Swiss cheese, topped with a rich cheese sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (for sauce)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil (for frying)
  • Roasted veggies or mashed potatoes (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven or Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat if you decide to fry the chicken.
  2. Pound the Chicken Breasts: Place each chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap or wax paper and pound them to an even thickness, about 1/2 inch.
  3. Layer the Ham and Cheese: On each pounded chicken breast, lay a slice of ham followed by a slice of Swiss cheese.
  4. Roll the Chicken: Carefully roll each breast up tightly, starting from one end, so that the ham and cheese are sealed inside.
  5. Dredge the Chicken Rolls: First, dredge each roll in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs mixed with milk, and coat it thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
  6. Cook the Rolls: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish or lay them in the hot pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or fry until golden brown on all sides.
  7. Prepare the Cheese Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the heavy cream and gradually stir in the shredded cheese until melted and smooth.
  8. Serve with Love: Drizzle the cheese sauce over the chicken rolls and serve hot with roasted veggies or mashed potatoes.

Notes

Leftover rolls can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for the best texture.
