A comforting cheesy hash brown casserole that’s perfect for brunch or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (30 oz) frozen hash browns
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: additional cheese for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the frozen hash browns, chopped onion, cheddar cheese, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, melted butter, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Bake for 45-60 minutes, until hot and bubbly with a golden brown top.
  5. Add additional cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of baking if desired.
  6. Let the casserole cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Try adding cooked bacon or sautéed vegetables for extra flavor.
