Delicious soft and chewy cookies combining chocolate and tart cherries, inspired by nostalgic summer days.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped cherries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped cherries.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. Freeze cookie dough for longer storage.
