  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the pans by greasing two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Mix in the wet ingredients and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Incorporate the boiling water carefully into the batter.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Make the ganache by heating the heavy cream and pouring it over chopped chocolate.
