  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter and chopped dark chocolate together until smooth.
  3. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the powdered sugar until fully mixed.
  4. Add the large eggs and egg yolks to the mixture, mixing thoroughly.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract to infuse flavor.
  6. Gently fold in the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt until just combined.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them three-quarters full.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes until edges are firm but center is gooey.
  9. Let the cakes cool for one minute before inverting onto plates to serve.

Notes

For an intensified lava effect, add a piece of chocolate in the center of each ramekin before baking. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
