  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • Powdered sugar for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch cake pan.
  2. Cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour and baking powder, then gradually add this to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
  5. Fold in the sliced strawberries into the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
  9. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  10. Frost the cooled cake with whipped cream.
  11. Garnish with additional strawberries and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
