Delicious and nostalgic Fried Cinnamon Apple Rings coated in a sweet cinnamon sugar blend. Perfect for breakfast or dessert!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2–3 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1–2 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Slice the apples into rings and remove the core. Make sure they are about 1/4 inch thick for even cooking.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed, being careful not to over-mix; a few lumps are okay.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until it’s hot enough to fry. Test by dropping a small amount of batter into the oil; if it sizzles, it’s ready!
  6. Dip each apple ring into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  7. Fry the apple rings in the hot oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  9. Mix together granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the coating in a small bowl.
  10. Toss the warm apple rings in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious Fried Cinnamon Apple Rings!
