Delicious homemade cinnamon rolls filled with brown sugar and cinnamon, topped with a creamy glaze.

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Heat the milk and butter until melted and warm.
  3. Mix the milk mixture with dry ingredients and eggs until dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour.
  6. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle.
  7. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the buttered dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log.
  9. Slice the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces.
  10. Final rise for 30 minutes covered with a towel.
  11. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  12. Whisk together powdered sugar and milk for glaze.
  13. Drizzle the glaze over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

Ensure the milk is warm but not too hot to avoid killing the yeast. Leftover cinnamon rolls can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerated for a week.
