Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground allspice, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Toss until the apples are well coated.
  3. Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Mix the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt in another bowl. Stir until all the ingredients are well combined and crumbly.
  5. Spread the oat mixture evenly over the apples, ensuring full coverage.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbling underneath.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
