A nostalgic and delicious recipe for classic deviled eggs, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Hard boil the eggs. Start by placing the eggs in a pot of water. Bring it to a boil, and once bubbling, let them cook for 10-12 minutes. After that, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool them down quickly, ensuring they’re easy to peel.
  2. Peel and slice the eggs. Once the eggs are cool, gently peel off the shells under running water if desired. It’s okay if they don’t peel perfectly; a little rustic charm can be a wonderful touch. Slice each egg in half lengthwise, revealing that beautiful, bright yellow yolk.
  3. Mash the yolks. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a bowl. Use a fork to mash them until they’re crumbly and smooth, creating a luscious base for your filling.
  4. Combine ingredients. Add in the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix everything until you achieve a silky, creamy texture. Taste as you go, adjusting seasoning as desired to match your palate.
  5. Fill the egg whites. Using a spoon, or for a little flair, a piping bag, fill each egg white half with the creamy yolk mixture. Don’t fret if it gets a bit messy; good food isn’t about perfection—it’s about flavor and enjoyment!
  6. Garnish and serve. Sprinkle each filled egg with a dash of paprika for a pop of color and flavor. If you’re feeling fancy—or just want to impress your guests—add a sprinkle of chopped chives or parsley. Serve them cold and watch them disappear in an instant!

Notes

For perfectly hard-boiled eggs, consider using older eggs—they’re easier to peel! If you find yourself with leftover deviled eggs, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator and enjoy within 2 days.
