  • 1 pound sausage
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 8 cups cubed bread
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the sausage over medium heat until it’s browned and crumbled.
  3. Add onion and celery to the skillet and sauté until soft.
  4. Stir in the fresh sage and dried thyme, cooking for another minute.
  5. Combine the bread cubes, sausage mixture, and chicken broth in a large bowl.
  6. Add melted butter, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Use day-old bread for better texture, and feel free to experiment with different sausage types.
