Deliciously savory Cowboy Mushrooms featuring crispy bacon, earthy mushrooms, and sweet caramelized onions, perfect for gatherings or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

  • 12 large mushrooms
  • 6 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon, leaving drippings in the pan.
  3. Add the diced onions to the skillet and sauté until caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Toss in the mushrooms and sauté for another 3-5 minutes until tender.
  5. Stir the crispy bacon back into the skillet and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Select large mushrooms for better filling. Substitute turkey bacon for a lower-fat option. Consider adding garlic or cheese for variations.
