A delightful recipe for crispy fried chicken that brings together juicy meat and a perfectly seasoned, golden crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces of chicken (legs, thighs, or breasts)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, or overnight for maximum tenderness.
  2. Prepare the coating by mixing flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat, covering the bottom generously.
  4. Dredge each marinated chicken piece in the seasoned flour, shaking off excess.
  5. Fry the chicken in hot oil for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain the chicken on paper towels to remove excess oil before serving.

Notes

Let the chicken come to room temperature before frying for even cooking. Use a heavy-bottomed pan to maintain oil temperature and avoid overcrowding for perfect frying.
