Crispy Orange Chicken combines juicy fried chicken with a sweet and tangy orange-infused sauce, making it perfect for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Dip each piece into cornstarch, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with flour.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry the coated chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Combine orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the sauce thickens.
  4. Add the crispy chicken pieces to the saucepan and gently toss to coat with the sauce.
  5. Serve the orange chicken hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

If using frozen chicken, ensure it is completely thawed before preparation. Adjust sweetness of the sauce to taste.
