Crispy taquitos filled with seasoned ground beef and melted cheese, perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

  • 16 small corn tortillas
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Salsa for serving
  • Guacamole for serving
  • Sour cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain excess fat.
  2. Add garlic powder, onion powder, taco seasoning, salt, and pepper; simmer for 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the cheese and remove from heat.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Assemble taquitos with 2 tablespoons of beef mixture in each tortilla; roll and secure with a toothpick.
  6. Fry taquitos in hot oil for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.

Notes

For gluten-free options, use corn tortillas labeled gluten-free. To bake instead of fry, brush taquitos with oil and bake at 425°F for 20-30 minutes.
