Delicious and wholesome Date Rolls made with whole wheat flour and naturally sweetened with dates, perfect for a cozy snack or dessert.

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking these delightful rolls.
  2. Soak the pitted dates in warm water for about 10 minutes.
  3. Mix the whole wheat flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Drain the soaked dates and blend with the remaining warm water until smooth.
  5. Combine the date paste with the melted coconut oil.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  7. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and spread the date paste evenly on top.
  8. Roll the dough into a log and slice it into individual rolls.
  9. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
  11. Let the rolls cool before serving.

Notes

Store any leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. They freeze well for up to a month.
