A rich and velvety dessert combining chocolate cake and airy mousse, perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt together the chocolate chips and unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, salt, eggs, and vanilla extract until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch springform pan.
  5. Bake for about 25 minutes or until set.
  6. Whip the heavy cream in a mixing bowl to soft peaks.
  7. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cooled chocolate mixture until smooth.
  8. Spoon the mousse over the cooled cake.
  9. Refrigerate the assembled torte until the mousse is fully set, about 2 hours.
  10. Serve chilled, topped with extra whipped cream if desired.

Notes

For a unique flavor, add espresso powder or flavored extracts to the mix.
