A quick and delightful recipe for crispy chicken coated in a tangy-sweet orange sauce.

  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Zest of 1 orange

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Create the Breading Setup: In a dish, add flour; in another bowl, beat the eggs.
  3. Coat the Chicken: Dip chicken in flour, then roll in eggs.
  4. Heat the Oil: In a skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the Chicken: Place chicken in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  6. Make the Orange Sauce: Combine orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, and zest in a pot over medium heat.
  7. Thicken the Sauce: Mix cornstarch with water for a slurry, then add to the pot while stirring until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
