A delightful pastry featuring sweet figs and creamy goat cheese wrapped in flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry: 1 sheet, thawed
  • Goat Cheese: 4 oz, softened
  • Fresh Figs: 6, sliced
  • Honey: 2 tbsp
  • Fresh Thyme: 1 tsp, chopped
  • Egg Wash: 1 egg, beaten with 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut the pastry into 4 equal squares.
  4. Mix the goat cheese, honey, and thyme until well combined.
  5. Place a spoonful of the goat cheese mixture in each pastry square.
  6. Top with a few slices of fresh figs.
  7. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket.
  8. Brush the tops with the egg wash for a golden finish.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Pairs wonderfully with white wine or a refreshing sparkling water with lemon.
