A delicious and streamlined twist on the classic French dip sandwich, served in easy-to-eat squares.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup of provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 package of refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil (for greasing the baking dish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. Combine in a medium saucepan the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Heat over medium heat until warmed through, then remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay it flat in the prepared baking dish, pressing the seams to seal and create a single layer.
  4. Layer the thinly sliced roast beef evenly over the dough in the baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese on top of the roast beef, spreading it evenly.
  6. Carefully roll out a second layer of crescent roll dough and place it over the cheese and beef, sealing the edges well by pressing down.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing into squares.
  9. Serve warm with the prepared beef broth mixture for dipping, and sprinkle fresh parsley on top for garnish.
