  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Chocolate shavings or curls for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven and Pre-Bake the Pie Crust: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in a pie dish and bake it until golden brown, approximately 10 to 12 minutes. Let it cool completely.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: In a double boiler or microwave, melt the semisweet chocolate until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.
  3. Creaming the Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy and light.
  4. Adding the Chocolate: Mix the cooled chocolate into the butter and sugar blend until fully incorporated.
  5. Incorporate the Eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, beating for 5 minutes after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  7. Folding in the Whipped Cream: Carefully fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture, maintaining its airy texture.
  8. Filling the Pie: Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled pie crust, smoothing it gently.
  9. Chill: Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours until set.
  10. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.
