A delightful cherry cobbler that celebrates summer’s bounty with a sweet and tender crust cradling juicy cherries.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the fresh cherries with sugar, cornstarch, almond extract, and lemon juice. Toss gently.
  3. Pour the cherry mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add in the milk and melted butter.
  5. Pour the batter over the cherry mixture.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving.

Notes
