Deliciously rich and fudgy brownies with smooth caramel ribbons and a sprinkle of sea salt, perfect for gatherings or cozy nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup soft caramel candies or caramel sauce
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • Sea salt flakes (optional)
  • Chocolate chips or chunks (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter until silky smooth, then mix in the sugar until combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add these dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Melt the caramel candies (or sauce) and heavy cream in a small saucepan over low heat until smooth.
  7. Add the caramel layer over the brownie batter in the pan.
  8. Spread the remaining brownie batter evenly over the caramel layer.
  9. Sprinkle sea salt flakes and chocolate chips or chunks on top if desired.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Cool before slicing into squares.

Notes

For a nutty kick, add walnuts or pecans; substitute caramel with peanut butter or Nutella for variations. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
