A warm, crusty bread infused with garlic and fresh herbs, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Additional flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Prepare the wet mixture in a separate bowl.
  3. Mix the wet and dry ingredients until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Let the dough rise uncovered for 12 to 18 hours.
  5. Shape the dough into a round loaf on a floured surface.
  6. Dust the loaf and let it rest for 1 to 2 hours.
  7. Preheat the Dutch oven to 450°F (230°C).
  8. Bake the bread for 30 minutes covered, then for an additional 15 to 20 minutes uncovered.
  9. Cool the bread on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Serve with herbed butter or high-quality olive oil, and can be frozen for up to 3 months.
