Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package rice paper wrappers
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice paper wrappers in warm water until pliable.
  2. Prepare the shrimp mixture by combining shrimp, water chestnuts, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and white pepper.
  3. Form the dumplings by placing a spoonful of the shrimp mixture in the center of a soaked rice paper wrapper and folding it over.
  4. Steam the dumplings in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper for about 10-12 minutes.
  5. Serve with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Use very fresh shrimp for the best flavor. Don’t overstuff the dumplings to avoid tearing. Experiment with fillings.
