A delightful way to satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt, this Healthy Dark Chocolate Date Bark combines rich dark chocolate, natural sweetness from dates, and a satisfying crunch from nuts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (at least 70% cocoa)
  • 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
  • ½ cup nuts (such as almonds or walnuts, roughly chopped)
  • ¼ cup unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, add the dark chocolate chips and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring, until melted and smooth.
  2. Once the chocolate is melted, allow it to cool slightly, then combine the chopped dates, nuts, and shredded coconut in a mixing bowl.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate over the mixture and fold until everything is coated.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pour the chocolate mixture onto it, spreading into an even layer about ½ inch thick. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely set.
  6. Once set, break the bark into pieces of desired size.

Notes

Store leftover bark in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. For longer storage, freeze it wrapped well to prevent freezer burn.
