  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Add the popcorn kernels and sugar into the pot, stirring gently to coat the kernels.
  3. Cover the pot with a lid and shake it gently to mix the ingredients.
  4. Maintain a gentle shake of the pot once the popping starts to prevent burning.
  5. Remove the pot from heat when the popping slows down.
  6. Transfer the kettle corn to a bowl and sprinkle with salt while it’s warm.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftover kettle corn in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. Try adding cinnamon or cayenne for a flavor twist!
