A nostalgic comfort food that combines ground beef, vegetables, and a flavorful sauce, all served on soft hamburger buns.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked and no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet, sautéing until soft and fragrant.
  3. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and mustard. Mix well and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve the mixture generously on hamburger buns.

Notes

For a spicier kick, consider adding hot sauce or chopped jalapeños. You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or lentils for a lighter or vegetarian version.
