  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup fresh key lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon key lime zest
  • Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), setting the stage for a warm and inviting baking environment.
  2. Combine 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs and 1/2 cup of sugar, then pour in the 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter. Stir until everything is evenly mixed.
  3. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a pie plate.
  4. Whisk the 4 large egg yolks until slightly frothy, then add the condensed milk, key lime juice, and key lime zest. Mix until well combined.
  5. Pour the filling into your prepared crust, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes to set the filling.
  7. Cool the pie to room temperature, then chill for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  8. Slice the pie and dollop with whipped cream before serving.
