A comforting and rich lasagna layered with meat sauce, creamy cheeses, and perfectly cooked noodles.

Ingredients

  • Lasagna noodles
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Ground beef (or Italian sausage)
  • Tomato sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, drain, and rinse.
  3. Sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil until softened and fragrant.
  4. Brown the meat, then stir in the tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  5. Prepare the ricotta mixture by combining ricotta cheese, a beaten egg, and a pinch of salt.
  6. Layer the ingredients in a baking dish, alternating meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake covered with foil for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let the lasagna rest before slicing.

Notes

Serve with a fresh salad and garlic bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for three months.
