A rich and creamy Lobster Mac and Cheese, combining cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses with tender lobster meat for a gourmet experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 1.5 cups cooked lobster meat, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook until al dente (about 7-8 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the cheese sauce by melting the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add milk, whisking until smooth. Simmer until thickened (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Add the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses to the sauce, stirring until fully melted. Incorporate garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Combine the cooked macaroni and cheese sauce in a large mixing bowl, gently folding in the chopped lobster meat.
  5. Prepare the optional topping by mixing breadcrumbs with melted butter and a pinch of salt.
  6. Bake in a greased baking dish at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For a bit of spice, add crushed red pepper or hot sauce. You can also substitute the lobster with sautéed mushrooms or steamed broccoli.
