Delightful chocolate brioche buns filled with whipped cream, reminiscent of cozy afternoons and magical baking moments.

Ingredients

  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 75g sugar
  • 10g salt
  • 10g active dry yeast
  • 200ml warm milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 100g unsalted butter, softened
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for whipped cream)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk and yeast; let it activate for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl: flour, sugar, salt, and cocoa powder.
  3. Add eggs and yeast mixture to dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  4. Knead the dough, adding softened butter until smooth; knead for 8-10 minutes until elastic.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  7. Shape the dough into equal portions to form buns and place on a baking tray with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool the buns completely on a wire rack.
  10. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  11. Assemble by splitting each bun and filling with whipped cream.
  12. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

These buns pair well with coffee or tea and can be enjoyed fresh or stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
