  • 2 slices of ham
  • 2 slices of turkey or chicken
  • 2 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter for frying
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Raspberry or blackberry jam (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Assemble the sandwich: Place a slice of cheese, ham, turkey, and another slice of cheese between two slices of bread. Spread mustard on the inside of the bread if desired.
  2. Whisk the egg mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined and slightly frothy.
  3. Heat the skillet: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a generous pat of butter to melt.
  4. Dip the sandwich: Carefully dip the assembled sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated.
