Delightful pinwheels made with golden, flaky puff pastry wrapped around savory mushrooms and gooey cheese, perfect for snacks or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 cup of mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 cup of cheese (like mozzarella or cheddar), shredded
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add the chopped mushrooms to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until they release moisture and become tender.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface until it’s nice and smooth. Spread the sautéed mushrooms evenly over the pastry.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the mushrooms.
  6. Starting from one end, roll the pastry tightly into a log shape.
  7. Slice the rolled pastry into pinwheels, about 1 inch thick.
  8. Place the pinwheels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the pinwheels.
  10. Bake the pinwheels for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!
