A comforting dish of breaded chicken breasts topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) to create the perfect environment for bubbling cheese and roasting chicken.
  2. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper. This step adds flavor right from the start!
  3. Dip each chicken breast in flour, ensuring they’re coated evenly. Shake off any excess flour.
  4. Beat the eggs until they’re frothy. This will help the breadcrumbs adhere nicely to the chicken.
  5. Take each floured chicken breast, dip it into the beaten eggs, and then coat with a mixture of breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it shimmers.
  7. Carefully place the breaded chicken breasts in the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown.
  8. Spread a layer of marinara sauce in a baking dish.
  9. Once the chicken is fried to perfection, place them on top of the marinara sauce in the baking dish and cover them with the remaining sauce.
  10. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the chicken.
  11. Transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
  12. Remove the Chicken Parmesan from the oven and garnish it with fresh basil if desired.
