Delicious chicken lettuce wraps inspired by your favorite Asian bistro, combining ground chicken, fresh veggies, and crispy lettuce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup diced water chestnuts
  • 1 cup diced mushrooms
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 head of butter or iceberg lettuce, leaves separated

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Brown the chicken, cooking until browned and breaking it up to cook evenly.
  3. Sauté the diced water chestnuts, mushrooms, and green onions, cooking until soft and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper, mixing well to combine.
  5. Prepare for assembly by spooning the mixture into the lettuce leaves.
  6. Serve immediately, allowing everyone to create their own wraps.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, pairs well with jasmine rice or a light Asian-inspired salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
