A comforting and delicious skillet dish inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak, featuring tender ribeye steak, gooey provolone, and sautéed onions and peppers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Optional: cooked pasta or rice as a base

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by gathering and slicing the ribeye steak, onion, and bell pepper. Mince the garlic.
  2. Sauté the onions and green bell peppers in olive oil over medium heat until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute.
  4. Cook the ribeye steak in the center of the skillet until browned, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Combine the sautéed vegetables with the steak, then lay the provolone cheese over the top and cover to melt.
  6. Serve hot, optionally over cooked pasta or rice.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding mushrooms or spinach. Swap provolone with Swiss or cheddar if desired. Can be made gluten-free by omitting pasta.
