A modern twist on a classic dish, these Salisbury Steak Meatballs are tender meatballs smothered in rich gravy, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Mashed potatoes, noodles, or veggies for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  2. Brown the Meatballs: In a large skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium heat, then brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Onions: In the same skillet, add sliced onion and sauté until caramelized.
  4. Create the Gravy: Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Cook the Meatballs: Return the meatballs to the skillet; cover and cook for about 15 minutes, until meatballs are cooked through.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Serve meatballs and gravy over mashed potatoes, noodles, or veggies.

Notes

These meatballs can be served with creamy mashed potatoes, buttered noodles, or steamed veggies. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
